Description
This method is used to determine the potential for beet white sugar to form a visible floc in an acidic beverage.
It was derived from the method formerly known as the Spreckels floc test.
Note: it is only suitable for beet white sugar (not cane white sugar) and the 10-day method (GS2-40) is the definitive test although the 24 h test can be useful for process control in a beet sugar factory.
