Description
The sucrose content in molasses is determined by gas chromatography. Sugars present in the sample are silylated in aqueous media before measurement. The method has Official Status for molasses. The absolute difference between two results obtained under repeatability conditions should not be greater than 0.35 g/100 g, and under reproducibility conditions should not be greater than 0.7 g/100 g.
