Method Abstract

This method is used to determine the sucrose content of beet/cane molasses and factory and refinery products.

The sugars are silylated in aqueous media before measurement by gas chromatography.

For molasses, syrup and clarified juice samples, the absolute difference between two results obtained under repeatability conditions should not be greater than 0.35 g/100 g and under reproducibility conditions should not be greater than 0.7 g/100 g.
