Description

This method is suitable to determine the turbidity of white sugar solutions having a colour < 50 IU.

The method is derived from Method GS2-10 and the turbidity is measured as the difference of the colour in solution between filtered and unfiltered solutions and, thus, the results are reported as turbidity in IU.

The method has Official Status. For sugars with turbidity values up to 20 IU, the absolute difference between two results obtained under repeatability conditions should not be greater than 3 IU and under reproducibility conditions not greater than 5 IU.
