This method determines the visual grade of white sugars in relation to the Braunschweig colour-types.
The method is often used as part of white sugar quality characteristics and is only applicable to crystalline white sugar.
The sample is visually compared to standards representing Braunschweig colour-types on a scale from 0 to 6.
