Description
This method is suitable to determine the betaine content of beet molasses.
The betaine present is measured using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) using a cation exchange column.
For beet molasses with betaine content in the range of (4 to 8) g/100 g the absolute difference between any two results under repeatability conditions should not be greater than 0.57 g/100 g and under reproducibility conditions not greater than 1.18 g/100 g.
