Experiences and results with the Sibomat – a screen filter for thick juice and standard sirop with very high viscosity

Starting with some general remarks about the filtration of thick juice, the current and future requirements of sugar factories concerning filtration equipment for thick juice and standard liquor as well as their possibility for realization are discussed. Following explanations about design and operation methods of the new development – a screen filter for thick juice and standard liquor with very high viscosity – are experiences about its use in the factory. Thick juice or standard liquor with a flow rate of approx. 40 m3/h, a dry substance up to 76% and a minimum temperature of 85 °C can be filtered with the Sibomat-Filter (viscosity between 20 and 50 mPa · s). Cleaning is performed with thin juice or condensate
