Jülich sugar factory increases its capacity

In 1996 and 1997 the Zuckerfabrik Jülich AG invested to increase the throughput of the factory to 13,000 t/d. The main investments are described and some specials are pointed out. Operating results of the vertical pulp presses, the beet yard, the loading terminal for bulk sugar and the extension of the waste water treatment plant are presented. The results of the 1997 beet campaign and the 1998 thick juice campaign confirmed the concept of the factory extension.
