The International Society of Sugar Cane Technologists (ISSCT) said preparations are underway for its XXXIII Congress, which will be held in Guatemala City from January 30 to February 3, 2028. A pre-congress tour on January 28-29 will take participants to La Antigua, including visits to sugar mills on the country’s South Coast. A post-congress tour from February 4-6 will be held in Quetzaltenango and will feature cultural and networking activities.
The ISSCT is also preparing the congress’s technical program. The deadline to submit an intent to present a paper or poster is March 31, 2027, while full papers and posters must be submitted by June 30, 2027. Authors will be notified by April 15, 2027, whether they can proceed with full submissions.
