Exchange of a Distributed Control System (DCS) in a liquid sugar plant

Technical development since the invention of the light bulb – still frequently employed – made rapid progress, not only in the field of electro-technics. But especially in this sector with a constantly growing demand from industry and – even more in recent years – from private households, a lot of innovations were perfected again or replaced by other technical developments in response to changing market habits. An almoust infinite amount of examples could be listed if we just think of the most normal articles for household and leisuretime. All these technical facilities were and are influenced by the continuous developments in the field of microelectronics, i.e. micro data memories. Nowadays already a number of privately as well as company owned computers – regarded as the novelty some years ago – are sorted out and the owners only shrink back from the last step, i.e. professional disposal. The following report shows the technical changes in industrial plants resulting from the constant demand for adjustment taking as an example the replacement of a process control system for the Amino GmbH in Frellstedt a privatly owned company in Lower Saxony producing liquid sugar products.
