Technical information from inventory documentation enables the user to make the right decision at the right time. The overview of the installed plant components, their design and data type are the basis for an effective operation and the foundation for legally compliant organization.

The GABO IDM mbH based in Erlangen, Germany, has developed a process to enable the digitization of entire archives in a reasonable time and inexpensively, by extracting technical information and making it available to the supplier. However, despite all technical innovation and even intelligent machine-learning tools, manual work remains a part of the process. For this reason, it is important to define in advance which documents require special attention (process-related documentation).
