Cali, known as the “branch of heaven”, has been selected as the host city for the XXXII ISSCT Centennial Congress 2025, which will take place from 22 to 31 August this year. This international event will bring together approximately 1,500 experts, researchers, and industry leaders from more than 70 countries.
Held every three years in major sugarcane-producing countries, the Congress has established itself as the most important global platform for the exchange of knowledge on best practices and innovation in the sugarcane agroindustry. The year 2025 is particularly meaningful as it marks the 100th anniversary of the ISSCT.
Why Cali?
Located in the heart of Valle del Cauca, one of the most advanced and organized sugar-producing regions in Latin America, Cali offers a strategic blend of infrastructure, technical expertise, and cultural richness. The Congress is divided into three parts:
o Pre-Congress (22–23 August): Technical visits to sugar mills in Valle del Cauca and Risaralda, showcasing the innovation and efficiency of Colombia’s sugarcane agroindustry.
o Congress (24–28 August): An international academic agenda, paper and poster sessions, a global trade exhibition, and regional celebrations.
o Post-Congress (30–31 August): A closing event in Cartagena, the historic Caribbean port city, featuring technical visits and cultural tours.
