In a festive ceremony the XXXI congress of the International Society of Sugar Cane Technologists (ISSCT) has been opened by Subodh Kumar Singh, Joint Secretary, Govt of India, Food & Public Distribution Department on 20 February 2023. This was followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp by (from left to right) Narendra Mohan, Ranjit Puri, Subodh Kumar Singh, Raúl Castillo, Jean Claude Autry and Sanjay Awasthi.
About 600 delegates from 28 countries attend the event in Hyderabad, India. About 190 papers and posters are presented over four days in the Hyderabad International Convention Center. In addition to the presentations in the sections of Biology, Agriculture, Factory, Co-products and Management 91 suppliers of the industry display their products and services.
The (ISSCT) is an association of scientists, technologists, managers, institutions and companies/corporations concerned with the technical advancement of the cane sugar.
